I Love Farm Life!

I grew up on a 300 acre family farm. On our farm we grew a variety of crops. From grain to grass crops and various types of fruits. Mostly we had prunes and cherries.

 

The most fun was the huge vegetable garden you see in the picture to the left. This produced enough vegetables to can and feed four families.

My mom taught me to cook and bake the most wonderful treats and dishes all from what we grew ourselves. We raised our own sheep, pigs, cows, and chickens for the meat on our table. We milked our own cows and gathered our own eggs.

We often had relatives come to visit and invited friends over after church for a hearty meal, often followed by playing games around the kitchen table.

These are all things I loved growing up on the farm. I want to share these experiences with you on my own little farm.
